I'm Ready

Here are some more Easter pictures!

I guess someones basket was on the roof of Shellie's house. I think it was Cory's or Mike's but I'm not sure.

When my dad and Cory hide baskets, they can be ANYWHERE!!!! I was looking out by the wood pile and we have a resident squirrel and I looked up to see it like a foot from my face. Scary!

Shellie and Madison.

So, I went to talk to my bishop this last Sunday. I've always wanted to go through the temple, when Cory got married, I seriously wanted to go to his wedding. But couldn't. It nearly killed me when Trent got married and I couldn't be there. I hated it. I'm pretty good about hiding my emotions so I don't think anyone thought anything about it. But I hated not being able to see my little brother get married(even when he took out his endowments, it was pretty hard on me).
But I kept telling myself, I'm on God's time, not mine. When He thinks I am ready, then HE will let me know.
For the last 2-3 months I've been nagged about talking to the bishop about going to the temple. Something in the back of my head just kept bugging me. In sacrament meeting I was so nervous, I just knew I HAD to talk to Bishop that day. I knew I couldn't really get started on working towards it till I knew what I needed to do.
So we talked, he asked me the questions. So for the next 3 months I can only read church approved books(ensign, Sunday school books, institute manuals, books by prophets and apostles, book of Mormon, etc). Because I have a problem with reading non fiction books about polygamy and they kinda put their version of the way the church was started and some of it's not true and it can affect what I think. So this is kinda going to help build my testimony of the church and how important the temple is.
I am really excited to start this experience. I started reading A Marvelous Work and a Wonder by Le grand Richards. It was first written in 1958. So we'll see if I can get through it. I have a hard time with the heavier stuff.
I just feel like it's my time. I mean I won't be able to go through till later on this year, but I'm so excited to put it into action. And have something to work towards. I'm not just wandering right now, I have something worthwhile to work on and look forward to. Just the way it's been on my mind A LOT of the last few months, I feel like I am serious this time. There is nothing holding me back now. This is for me. Yay!!!

Then I told the bishop about how my 2nd goal this year is to get up in sacrament meeting and bear my testimony, which I have never done before. When I told him, he kinda laughed and said since we had about 10 minutes left of the meeting he felt like he needed to ask me to get up and do it then, but he was afraid I'd get up and walk out! I thought that was kinda cool! My bishopric is awesome!!!

The things I did this week...

So, it was my birthday this week. Here's how I spent it!

I know there are only 3 candles, but hey I didn't want to burn down the whole house!

I tried licking it, but my mom wouldn't let me! Dang it! It looked so good!!!

It was also my grandma's 90th birthday this week and we had a party for her on Saturday. My eyes are closed because I was loving being close to her like that!!! I LOVE her to pieces!!!

Me and Trent, that is a totally random picture of us. It was so funny, I love it!!!

Madison and me! There were Polynesian dancers there and they were way good, Madie was on my lap, so I took a picture, got more of me than her!
It was a good party! This whole week was good! It was definitely good! Especially, Tuesday night and Thursday night!! Yay for me! :) And tomorrow night will be cool too!!!! :)

Spring Cleaning of my blog!

Ok, so I decided a while back that I wanted to print out all the posts on my blog because it's like a journal for me because I NEVER write in my journal. So I went and bought some ink and that is what I did today! I started around 4:30 and I just finished about 8:40. I don't even want to know how many pages ended up printing.

Then I decided to delete a lot of posts, just to kinda clean up my blog a little(spring cleaning). So if there was a certain post someone liked and it's gone, sorry! You can read it at my house in my journal! I'm going to put all the pages in a 3 ring binder with clear page protectors. I know it sounds like a lot of work, but our printer was way fast.

Me and Madison(I got my hair cut 2 weeks ago and have been waiting for the right time to get a good picture- even though Trent said he would take some nice ones over easter weekend).

Isn't this picture gorgeous??? I love ice plants.

Today was funnish.... Church was good. Ann gave a super good lesson in R.S. The speakers were awesome. I stopped into visit my grandma, she is going to be 90 on the 23rd. Wow!!! Crazy.
Natalie and the girls came over for dinner, Trent was kinda there(Dani had to work). We had dutch oven- YES!!!! LOVE, LOVE, LOVE dutch oven potatoes! My dads are the best!
Then I met Ryan over at the temple visitors center, we talked for the longest time. So we were walking around and there was this random picture. I was seeing all these pictures of Christ, then there was a picture of some native Americans. so it was random to me, and there a lady standing there looking at it to, so I asked her what she knew about that picture and she said it was Jacob Hamblin and she liked to think Dudley Leavitt was with him because apparently they were pals back in the day. I told her that I came from Dudley's 3rd wife, she came from Dudley's 1st wife. I thought that was so cool! Totally random!
*sigh* :)

My heart is filled with joy-
On Friday after work I got home around 9, I had to talk to Shellie so I was over at her house for a few minutes and as I was walking back I heard the funny sounding meow of my momma cat(she really does have a weird sounding meow). I haven't seen her in months and months. I wrote about her in an early post with a picture of her. But she is a mean little brat. She doesn't like people coming near her, or petting her. Anyways, so she laid on the ground like she wanted to be pet, so I walked over nicely and slowly reached to pet her and she let me pick her up. I was SO EXCITED!!!! I had to show my mom, so I took her inside but I didn't want to make her mad by holding her too long, so I sat on the floor and let her sniff me and just scratched her head a little and she climbed on my lap and purred for about 20 minutes. I LOVED it. I was so excited(I'm repeating myself because I was so excited-ha,ha).
We gave up on her a long time ago, so we just stopped buying cat food and toys. So after that I went to Wal-Mart and bought some food for her, while texting Trent, telling him how excited I was.
Then last night(Saturday) it was raining outside and my mom said my cat was crying at the front door. So both of us went outside, my mom to watch the rain and me to keep the cat company, she acts like she wants to get on my lap but she's not quite sure she's ready for that yet. So she will put her front paws and head on my lap so I can pet her. LOVE it!!!
I let her in for a few minutes so she could eat and she ate, let me pet her and when she was done she walked to the back door and waited for me to open it for her. She knew what she wanted and right now we are trying to love her and give her- her way so maybe she will stick around. She is about 60 years old in human years.

Anyways, so I just had to get a picture of her and this 'miraculous' event.

I went to church today, bugged Edwin for a little while. Then stopped into see my grandma, but she was with her son, Uncle Roger(I still have a hard time calling Lonnie and Roger- uncle). So I came back to Hurricane and went to primary for a little while(my mom teaches a senior class). On my way home I had the pleasure of hitting a rooster!! It just ran out into the road, I wasn't even going fast. I didn't run OVER it, I just hit it and in the rear view mirror I just saw a few feathers on the road but I didn't see the actual rooster. So I figured it was probably fine. But someone else pulled over, so I think either they hit it too, or it somehow hit my passangers side and ended up on the opposite side of the road by the side walk, I really don't think I killed it, no way would it have gone that far without me seeing it. I don't know!

Anyways, so the weather was nice when we got home, but by the time we sat down to eat dinner we had a huge thunder and lightening storm with hail, so I took a picture of it. I think it turned out kinda cool!

Anyways, so that was my weekend so far! We have gotten so much moisture. I LOVE it! My mom told me that Brother Chandler said that our area has paid 200% tithing and we have gotten 200% more rain. I thought that was cool, because of the story of how S. Utah needed rain back in the pioneer days and the prophet said if we pay our tithing we will be blessed with rain. We've needed it!

Anyways, so I think I am going to go cook something(not a rooster). Maybe cookies, maybe a ham, whatever sounds good to me! :)

Your So Vain......

My Grandpa Leavitt(thanks Mickie- I absolutely LOVE this picture- you can so tell he's trying not to smile)!

I guess I should update my blog! :)

Pictures of my grandparents! The picture of me and my grandma is my favoritest! I want a 5x7 copy of it(hint, hint- if Natalie is reading this...). And the one of my grandpa, I've never seen before, it's a cropped picture I found online, but I love it. He died 10 years ago the first week of February.

I just learned the pistachios are the cause of my cold sores! I had some on Christmas eve, got a cold sore Christmas day. Two days later had some more, got a cold sore the next day. Then last night I thought I'd hurry and eat the rest of them so I could throw away the bag. I got a cold sore today! I thought about getting a small pox shot, since I heard from a nurse that it helps prevent cold sores from recurring so often! But I don't know how true that is! Oh-well! It's my mom's fault! I don't think I've ever seen my dad with one.

This popped into my head today- While Cory and Natalie were here for Christmas, Abby was in the high chair and I was playing with Jameson laser pointer, and remembering how dogs and cats go crazy with the light, I thought I'd see if Abby would think anything of it. That was so much fun! We would move it all over the high chair tray and she'd reach for it, then we'd point it on her hand and she grab her hand. If you want to keep your kid entertained for a few minutes, get a laser pointer!

We really didn't pull out the camera a whole lot these last couple of weeks. But I like these pictures. They were taken on Sunday while we were visiting my grandma Toni. Wade's family was the only one missing! It was a fun visit!

I've been enjoying all this time off of work! I had to work a few hours on Christmas eve, but we went in around 10 am, and got off around 2. I think. I just know we weren't there til 4 like planned.
For Christmas I got a couple of lovely cold sores. I hate 'em! They are so ugly right now. One on the top lip and one on the bottom. :(
Oh and I FINALLY got a Carhartt coat, I have been begging for one for years, they are so warm. And it is probably my first coat ever- since I live in S. Utah all I've ever needed was jackets! Shellie got me a thing of chocolate covered almonds from Costco, which are my absolute favorite in the world! I refuse to share them!
Cory and Natalie surprised us Christmas day. My dad knew they were coming, I guessed about 20 minutes before they got here. That was super fun to have them here. Trent and Dani spend the weekend at our house so we could all hang out.
For Natalie's birthday we went out to dinner and her parents brought a guy with them from Croatia, they tried to hook us up. He was nice and really cute. Too bad he lives in another country.
We all went to church with my parents. I haven't been since Skylar's mission homecoming in May, so it was nice to see all these people I never see anymore. I don't know anyone in the ward anymore.

The warehouse shut down for new years eve and new years day. So I have another long weekend. We just hung out at home. I didn't want to go anywhere because of my cold sores. They really do look horrible. So I spent the night painting a few pieces of furniture and reading a book called Shattered Dreams by Irene Spencer(good book about the LeBaron family in Mexico). Today I finished the book and painted some more.
Well, that's the plan for my whole long weekend. I'm sure I could spend it better, but with these cold sores, yeah, I think I'll hang out here!

The Rest Of Thanksgiving Weekend

My family went up to Kiabab to get Christmas trees on Saturday, my mom got this awesome picture of my uncle Jerrol. It totally cracks me up!

I gained weight, holy cow!!! Not really, but it was a funny picture. I was freezing so I was standing on one of the floor vents up at my grandma's and the air went up my jamma pants and made me look like a gained weight, it was pretty funny!

Mandy was standing on the piano bench reading all the piano music sheets that our grandma used to play. Some of them were pretty interesting AND old! But there is this bird that balances on someones finger with it's beak, it's pretty cool, we used to play with that for hours when we were younger. So Mandy thought she'd relive the memory!

Happy Thanksgiving

Here are just a few pictures of our thanksgiving day-

These are our dysfunctional turkeys! They were so cute in the picture I cut out, but I'm not good at decorating stuff and Chris and Madison were helping me. So we called them our dysfunctional turkey family.

Cory is sitting on Dani's lap. It was funny!

Dinner at Shellie's house. I tried to get a picture of everyone. It was fun! But we felt like we were missing someone(s). Wades family.

All in all, thanksgiving was fun. Tons of desserts, a turkey cooked a little differently, apple and walnut stuffing, orange rolls, Potatoes and gravy(I wouldn't let my parents make gravy from the turkey drippings, because I used white cooking wine). It was fun. Tomorrow I will heading up to my grandma's in Junction to hang out with some family for the weekend. While everyone else in my family goes and gets Christmas trees on Kiabab. So maybe I'll get more pictures to post later on!

My last few posts have been downers, so here is a fun post!!!

I match so well, maybe I was trying to match the umbrella(but it didn't work out). But I do remember that shirt!

See how happy my dad is to be spanking me. I must have done something to deserve it!

Me on the back porch. I have no idea how old I was.

Wade, My grandpa Leavitt and me.

See how abused I was as a child and my parents are smiling in the pictures!

Favorite Pictures

We were working on a project that is a secret right at the moment and we decided to find all of our old memory cards and put all the pictures on the computer. Very entertaining! So since I don't have much to blog about, because I promised Edwin I wouldn't tell my family about him, this will have to do for now(because he's afraid they will think he's a bad person before they actually meet him)!

These two pictures are most absolute favorite in the world, I loved everything about them. The first one is in Friday Harbor, Washington(San Jaun Islands). The second one is in Anacortes Island, Washington, gorgeous. For some reason I love the view. The sail boats, the ocean, the smell. I want to go up there again so bad. It's like a homesickness for me! I just need the money!

Ok, a couple of years ago we went on a hike, I know I've posted one of these pictures before, but we lost my moms memory card, so here are some more. The first one is me from the front, my mom took that picture, but you can see my dad in the background, taking the second picture, that was on my moms camera.

This isn't a very good picture, but I was freezing. Then a few minutes later I'd be dying of heat. But the only good time to go on that hike is in the early spring, late fall because it gets SO hot down there and then the sun reflects of the rock, which makes it hotter! I want to go back down there again. Maybe I can get Edwin to go with me in the spring- oh shoot, I mentioned Edwin!!! :) Ha, ha!!

Second Batch of Reunion Pictures-day 2ish!

Here are some more pictures, I might as well put more on here since I'm waiting for the washer to be done so I can take a shower.

My Mom and Dad!

Me, they wanted to do individual pictures of me, since they were doing pics of each family and I was my own family I was thinking "Whatever"!

Kellie and Kyson- they were freezing and sharing a sweater! It was funny!

Lindsay and Madison

Me! We went to Peach Days the night before going to the reunion and I bought each of my nieces princess crowns, I tried them on. Thats how long I WISH my hair was!!!
